![]() If you don't know, Field Notes is a feature on my Riding The Edge Photography website. It used to be set up as an image with an audio file attached. The idea was the viewer could listen to the audio while looking at the photo, I saw it as a way for the viewer to connect with the creator of the image. I’ve since added a second feature page too the site that uses the same audio file approach, I call it The Story Behind The Photo, with two pages that are very similar I’ve decided it is time for Field Notes to evolve. What has changed? The content will now be delivered in the form of a video short, along with the photo made at the time the video clips were recorded, kind of a black and white landscape and nature photography journal. A lot of the video shorts will come from past photo shoots that I’ve recorded for my YouTube channel but some will be stand alone videos that are made just for this series. This format will let me share how an image was made or just some random thoughts I had while making the photo, without the need for a full length video. The content will focus on black and white images made with film and digital cameras, I hope these short videos will give the viewer a better sense of place and the thought process of making landscape/nature photos, or whatever else is going on in my head at the time.
Here is a link to the page where some post are ready to be viewed www.ridingtheedgephotography.com/field-notes.html I'll rotate new videos onto the Field Notes page so I hope you check back for new content.
